Mark Knopfler began his career all the way back in the late 1970's with the incredibly successful rock band, Dire Straits. As the main singer, songwriter, Mark was the man behind tracks such as "Sacred Loving", "Romeo and Juliet" and "Tunnel of Love".
Since their break up, Mark Knopfler has continued to impress fans across the globe, with a notable solo career for almost 20 years! His fingerstyle guitar playing has influenced many songwriters alike and ranked him 27th on Rolling Stone magazine's list of 100 Greatest Guitarists of All Time!
Knopfler and Dire Straits have sold in excess of 120 million albums to date. And Knopfler has a whopping four Grammy Awards under his belt!
As well as his live performance abilities, he has composed and produced film scores for eight films, including the 1983 Local Hero, Cal (1984), The Princess Bride (1987), and Wag the Dog in 1997.
