Critically acclaimed and multiplatinum, Young the Giant is a rock band from the United States, originally from Irvine, California. They formed in 2004. Singles from their debut album, including "Cough Syrup" and "My Body," propelled Young the Giant to alt-rock superstardom. Sameer Gadhia (lead vocals), Jacob Tilley (guitar), Eric Cannata (guitar), Payam Doostzadeh (bass guitar), and Francois Comtois (drums) are the band's members. Young the Giant, formerly known as The Jakes, signed with Roadrunner Records in 2009 and dropped their self-titled debut album the following year. All three of the band's early singles, "My Body," "Cough Syrup," and "Apartment," were US Alternative Songs chart entries.
Kassel, Germany, is the birthplace of Milky Chance, a rock band that has been entertaining audiences for years. They have Clemens Rehbein on vocals and guitar, Philipp Dausch on bass and percussion, and bandmates Antonio Greger and Sebastian Schmidt. Released in April of 2013, "Stolen Dance" quickly became a global smash hit. It also won the award for "Best Single" on the 1Live Krone radio station. The song "Down by the River" was featured on their debut album "Sadnecessary," which was released in October 2013. In Germany, the album peaked at number 14, and in 2014, "Spin" featured Sadnecessary as Album of the Week. The band's first television appearance was on "Jimmy Kimmel Live!" in October 2014, and they also won the European Border Breakers Award that same month.
