St. Augustine Amphitheatre
St. Augustine, Florida is getting one of the best indie folk bands in modern-day music because The Head and The Heart is slated to perform at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre on Tuesday, June 10th, 2025! Witness one of the few bands today that can tug on your heartstrings with each and every song, making their performances as intimate as possible for their audiences.
Touring in support of their newest album, ‘Aperture’, their sixth and latest release marks a restart for the band. With Jonathan Russell ceding the role of lead songwriter for this album, it gave way for the rest of the band to take on new roles in making their music such as drummer Tyler Williams taking on lead vocals and pianist Kenny Hensley singing and songwriting tracks for the first time.

Gaining a loyal, substantial fanbase since forming in the summer of 2009, and securing their band’s identity with certified hits and Platinum tracks including 'Honeybee' and 'All We Ever Knew', The Head and The Heart are back with a purpose for another tour and creating new, innovative material for their fans.
'Aperture', the name of both their upcoming tour and first-ever self-produced album (to be released on May 9, 2025), was a risky endeavor by the band who sought to reinvent their sound. The result of this risk however turned out to be worth it as it allowed collaboration and a spotlight for all band members to unveil their hidden talents. You’ll be surprised how instrumentalists of The Head and The Heart get a chance to take the lead on several tracks, with some members getting the chance to both write and sing the songs. Concertgoers will be pleasantly surprised at the invigorated and extraordinary vocals - this time, not just from lead vocalist and songwriter Jonathan Russell, but also his bandmates.
At the band’s core, it’s quite obvious with the releases of ‘Arrow’ and ‘After The Setting Sun’ that The Head and The Heart still retains the immense passion behind their songs despite their new approach. Fans will surely be able to sing along to every lyric as the band is known to write tracks that become personal anthems for its listeners because of its deep themes. Matty Gervais, vocalist and guitarist of the band, describes the album as “a representation of the choice we all must make between resigning ourselves to darkness, or letting the light in and recognizing our own agency to do so”.
Enjoy the show with over 3,500 other audience members as The Head and The Heart come to St. Augustine, Florida on June 10th, 2025 to perform at the St. Augustine Amphitheatre. St. Augustine Amphitheatre (The Amp) with its atmospheric feel, white beaches, and nature trails lends itself to what the band is famous for – intimate, personal, and profound performances.
