The crew here at St. Augustine’s Amphitheatre is super excited to welcome Railroad Earth, Yonder Mountain String Band, and Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country to the stage for a one night, once in a lifetime show on Sunday, July 13th, as a part of their Summer 2025 Tour - which will take the rowdy trio of bands across the states for eleven shows in places like Atlanta, Cincinnati, Nashville, and right here in St.Augustine, Florida.
Railroad Earth is the bluegrass influenced group from New Jersey that formed in 2001 and has been a staple in the country music scene for the last two decades. Combining folk, country, jazz, and rock all in one group or one album seems like it’d be a challenge - but not for these guys. Though they have magnificent writing and thought provoking melodies, the group often improvises during their live shows - putting them in the same conversation as great bands like The Grateful Dead. They took off after only playing a handful of performances, and were signed to Sugar Hill Records after playing the Telluride Bluegrass Festival in Colorado. Now, after 11 albums and dozens of tours later, Railroad Earth find themselves more refined and juicy than ever - the new sounds and fans agree, and they’re ready to rock out on another tour for us this Summer.
Yonder Mountain String Band is a bluegrass group that got their start in Nederland, Colorado in the late 90s and are known for their amazing live performances and breaking character for impromptu jam sessions on stage. The band is made up of Ben Kaufmann, Dave Johnston, Adam Aijala , Nick Piccininni, and Coleman Smith. After getting their start at small time festivals around Colorado, the band has propelled to Bluegrass A-listers after 25 years in the game. After eleven studio albums and six live ones, as well as many many tours around the country and North America - these guys are a staple of the culture, and have made a lasting impact forever.
Daniel Donato's Cosmic Country, a band formed by Donato known for their improv of country rock and covers of everyone’s favorite rock songs, sits between the genres of rock, bluegrass, and psychedelia. Daniel has been named “Nashville’s New Guitar Hero” by Rolling Stone, and formed Cosmic Country to give Daniel a space for his already eclectic sounds and even deeper lyrics. The band has played about 150 shows a year since their inception over five years ago - so we have no doubt they’ll be primed and ready for the Amphitheatre when July rolls around.
We warned you - this show lineup is absolutely sellar. And at a great venue and value, might we add - what more could you ask for?! Don’t sleep on these - get your tickets today, right now.
