Counting Crows is alternative rock royalty that shut off to mainstream success with their angsty and quirky folk-rock music. Due to their out-of-the-box musicality, they were an instant hit and have continued to be one of the OGs of the rock scene. Among the best alternative rock bands in history, they have sold more than 20 million albums, received many accolades, and clutched the eighth spot of Billboard's Adult Alternative Artists of all time. Adam Duritz and David Bryson formed Counting Crows in 1991. That year, the duo slowly gained more members, becoming a full-fledged band. In 1994, their album "August and Everything After" became a hit, which would catapult their career to alternative rock stardom. Among their best records are "Mr. Jones," "Big Yellow Taxi," "Hanginaround," and "Accidentally In Love." Currently, the band consists of Duritz, Bryson, Charlie Gillingham, Dan Vickrey, David Immerglück, Jim Bogios, and Millard Powers.
Chris Carraba, who was starting to become the image of the emo phase of the 2000s, decided to create Dashboard Confessional as a project. With intimate writing and an acoustic guitar, he established the project passionately. Later on, he would form a backing band for the project, which would become the official members when it turned into a full-fledged emo band. They gained mainstream success with "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar" in 2003. This was followed by "Dusk and Summer" in 2006, which would become their biggest hit. They have contributed greatly to the creation of the emo sound in the 2000s with songs such as "Stolen," "Vindicated," "Hands Down," "Don't Wait," and "Belong." The current members of the band are Carrabba, Scott Schoenbeck, Armon Jay, Chris Kamrada, Dane Poppin, and Abigail Kelly.
